Message from the founder...
For a long time, I struggled to find a way to explain how I was truly feeling. Words often felt too heavy or too hollow. I suffered in silence for years with depression, isolation and PTSD, but then came the bees, and suddenly, a new language emerged.
My friends and family started asking, "How are the bees?" On the surface, it was a question about honey and activity, but we all knew the "sublime" truth: they were really asking, "How are you?"
They recognised that the state of my hive was a reflection of my own internal landscape.
Finding My Ground...
Beekeeping has become my ultimate practice in grounding. When I step out to the apiary, the noise of the modern world; the flash-backs, the intrusive thoughts, the emptiness, the "what-ifs"; simply evaporates. You cannot be anywhere else but right here when you are handling a frame, right here, right now.... The frame is a unique tool, that truly resonates with you. There is a specific kind of peace found in the steady, rhythmic hum of thousands of wings, pulsing in waves in front of your eyes:
It’s a frequency that seems to reset me.
Beekeeping isn't just a hobby; it’s a sanctuary, it has taught me that even in the busiest of seasons, there is a fundamental order and beauty to life. Through the bees, I’ve rediscovered my own sense of calm. When the hive is thriving, I am thriving.
The bees didn’t just give me honey; they gave me my breath and thoughts back.
